SMdP National Honor Society invites you to attend Parent/Teacher Conferences and American Red Cross Blood Drive - Friday, February 19th
Bring the whole family! There will be a Children's Activity Area - where children can be entertained while parents meet with teachers, give blood, or just enjoy great food.
The National Honor Society will also be accepting cash contributions all evening that will be donated to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund.

St. Martin de Porres High School announced that the McCormick Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to the Waukegan-based Cristo Rey Network school. This is the second consecutive year of funding that the McCormick Foundation has provided to St. Martin de Porres. read more

Teacher Tapped for Astellas Science Academy
Kumkum Ghosh recently was
selected to participate in the 2009 New Science Teacher Academy. Sponsored by the National Science Teachers Association in partnership with Deerfield-based Astellas Pharma US Inc., the national, yearlong program connects new science teachers to a range of tools and resources, while providing the support needed to build a strong foundation for science in their classrooms.

St. Martin de Porres High School (SMdP) senior Wendy Esparza of Waukegan has been invited to become a Cristo Rey Scholar at Loyola University Chicago. By accepting, Wendy receives an annual full-tuition scholarship and room and board, estimated at $41,000 per year. read more
